
Rocky Mountain Rumble Recap
At the Rocky Mountain Rumble hosted in the Denver Broncos HQ Indoor Practice Field in Denver, CO, the Bobcats had a solid weekend going 2-1. On Saturday, in the first game of the year, the Cats took on the Air Force Falcons in an RMLC Conference Championship and National Semi-Final Rematch.
The Cats opened the scoring with junior attackman Mekhi Davis (2G, 2GB) and was supported by sophomore attackman Liam Prescott (5G, 3GB). The offense was balanced with scoring from five other players including Jack Causey (3G, 6GB, 10FOW) and Reece Loucks (2G, 1A). Defensively, the Cats were led by senior close defender Andreas Lucero and freshman goalie Drew Knickerbocker. After a close back and forth battle, Air Force was able to take a 1 goal lead with 18 seconds left and won 16-15.
On Sunday, the Cats played two games. In the early game, the Cats cruised to an easy 19-3 win over the Metro State Roadrunners. Offensively, the team shared the ball early and often with nine different goal scorers. Defensively, the team played a complete game anchored by goalies Jackson Griffing and Henry Cadieux.
In the night cap to close out the weekend, the Bobcats battled with Cal State San Marcos in a top 15 match up. The Cats got down 3-1 to the Cougars early in the second quarter but were able to battle back to lead at half time. Lead by 21 saves from freshman goalie Drew Knickerbocker, the Cats won 13-9.
