Why not, Minot? Weekend Recap
The Cats opened the weekend at Herbert Parker Stadium with a great team win, 18-3, over the UMD Bulldogs. Senior midfielder Dexter Tedesco (2G, 1A) open the scoring and was supported by junior attackman Mekhi Davis (5G, 1A, 4GB) and sophomore attackman Liam Prescott (3G, 1GB). The defense was anchored by the Man of Match, sophomore goalie Jackson Griffing with 5 saves and 0 goals against. Coach Kelley was "happy with the complete team win and opportunity for the younger players to contribute".
On Sunday, the Cats battled against UMLC rival St. Thomas in a 2024 National Championship rematch. After a back and forth first quarter, the Tommies were able to pull away in the second quarter and maintain their lead with an 16-11 win. "It is always a tough test early in the year but it is great way to see where we stand. We have a lot to work on but have the pieces to make another run in May" said Coach Dack after the game.
The Cats are back in action on Friday, May 7th at home in Bozeman.
